Reforms to the taxation non-domiciles: further consultation

HM Treasury’s open consultation on reforms to the taxation of non-domiciles was issued on 19 August 2016. The consultation invited comments from interested parties and their advisers to be submitted before 20 October 2016.

Rooks Rider Solicitors’ Wealth Planning team submitted responses before the deadline on key areas arising from the consultation, such as the disappointment at the lack of tax reliefs available on de-enveloping property in advance of the new provisions to be introduced after 5 April 2017.

We currently await further comment from government, expected on or around the time of the Autumn Statement on 23 November 2016.

If you have any concerns or queries relating to the taxation of non-domiciles, contact Robert Drysdale, or a member of our Rooks Rider Solicitors Wealth Planning team.
